ONLINE DRIVERS EDUCATION
Teenagers aged 15 1/2 through 17 1/2 years old who wish to obtain a California Drivers License are required to take a 30-hour driver education course approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This requirement can be satisfied by completing our DMV approved online Drivers Education course.
If you wish to get your permit when you turn 15 1/2 we suggest that you plan to complete the online program before that time so that you will be qualified to take the DMV written test.
Teens looking to obtain a California drivers permit are required to drive a minimum of 6 hours with a licensed instructor. This training is conducted in three classes of two hours each. During this course, students will learn the basic driving skills necessary to operate a vehicle safely. Upon completion, the driving instructor will issue a certificate as required by the DMV.
REMEMBER: If you are younger than 17 1/2, you must be enrolled in Behind-the-Wheel/Drivers Training before you can take your permit test.
REMEMBER: Your permit is not valid until you complete your first Behind-the-Wheel lesson with a licensed instructor.
